Taj Mahal & Tucanê – Agra, India

It is my great pleasure to team up with Tucanê for the second year in a row, and showcase some of my favorite pieces of the new summer collection. After my collaboration with the brand in Brazil last year, it was hard to come up with a place that could live up to those experiences. If you recall, Tucanê was founded during a trip to Europe and therefore stands for traveling and international lifestyle. My favorite features of the brand are the very elegant styles combined with elite sports and casual clothing. For our new adventure, I wanted to do something very special and take the brand far away from Latin America into new and colorful surroundings…

… to India! A place impossible not to be mesmerized by. Representing beauty, love, and happiness, mixed with an incredible culture, ancient history, different races and religions, it is one of the most fascinating countries I have ever visited! In this blog post I would like to present to you the Taj Mahal, a wonder of the world and one of the most impeccable buildings you can imagine. “Taj Mahal” means “Crown Palace”, it is a huge mausoleum in white marble that was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan over period of 25 years to honor the beauty of his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal. Both are now are now laid to rest in the tomb inside the main dome. Having a closer look at the architecture you will notice that everything from the park around the Taj Mahal, the mausoleum itself, the pattern of the paving stones, floors, and the decorations are constructed symmetrically. It is so perfectly done that even the pools in front of the building and the river behind are meant to reflect the Taj Mahal during specific times of the day. If you travel to India, Agra and the Taj Mahal should be on top of your list. I recommend to visit very early in the morning to avoid the crowds of tourists and because temperatures rise to an unbearable level around noon. Besides, the white marble has a beautiful warm glow in the morning light and it is the best time to take pictures.
